Jamie Bartlett is an author, journalist and researcher focusing on cyber security, privacy online, new political movements, social media analysis and internet cultures.

His first book The Dark Net, exposed the dark side of and the hidden areas and cultures of the internet, particularly the dark web. His new book for 2018 is The People vs Tech: How the internet is killing democracy (and how we save it). 

Jamie is the presenter of the BBC 2 documentary series Secrets of Silicon Valley. He is a journalist and tech blogger for The Telegraph and he is Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media for Demos in partnership with The University of Sussex.

Jamie’s most recent book Radicals Chasing Utopia: Inside the Rogue Movements Trying to Change the World was published in May 2017. He explores the individuals, groups and movements that reject the way we live today and asks if political radicals are not the only people who bring revolutionary change to the world.
