Derek Wyatt has had a number of careers and founded a few national organisations on the way including Women's Sport (1984) and the Oxford Internet Institute (1999) both still going strong. He is currently trying to raise £100m for The Brain Campaign, a new charity, to help those over 85 and those under 40. Brain trauma for these two groups is the major illness inside the NHS. He is also writing a book about Japan. Last year, he was the oldest student at King's College studying for an MA in International Relations and his thesis was on how ISIS used social media to propagate its messages. He is Editor at Large at Atlantic Books. He was an MP for thirteen years.
