Towards the tail end of the last millennium, Scott graduated with a first class honors degree in Statistics from Glasgow University. He then spent several years working in various data analysis roles, mainly in Direct Marketing, for British Aerospace, CACI and Marketing Databasics both in London and Edinburgh. The inevitable excitement of the Financial Services world lured him to Bank of Scotland where he spent 6 glorious years, initially setting up the Customer Knowledge department before moving on to manage the implementation of the Bank’s Data Warehouse and ultimately taking over as Head of Research, Data and Analysis. 

Scott joined Occam in April 2001.  He took over as Managing Director in February 2003 and led a successful management buyout.  After the sale of the business to St Ives in 2010, Scott moved to work at Group level running marketing as well as building and developing strategy with the St Ives Board. 

He now works at REaD Group, the UK’s largest independent data business, as Customer Engagement Director.  Scott served as Chair of the DMA for three years and now looks after the Customer Engagement Council.
